“Even among men lacking all distinction he inevitably stood out as a man lacking more distinction than all the rest, and people who met him were always impressed by how unimpressive he was.”

DIY Peach Prize Ball | The Sweetest Occasion
We’re already planning my niece’s birthday party for March and when I came across this DIY I thought it would be a fantastic alternative to the normal goodie bags! All you have to do is get some little toys, chocolates, etc. and then start wrapping them with crepe paper strips. It’s like your own personal little pass the parcel! You could adapt this for older kids too - think small jewelry items, chocolates, key chains - anything small and easy to wrap. Wouldn’t this be a great way to propose to someone, with the engagement ring wrapped in the middle?!

Make heart shaped tea bags. (It’s a good idea to handwash the muslin in a gentle soap before using for tea.)

Trees like this giant sequoia were seedlings as early as the time that Hatshepsut sat on the throne as the first female pharaoh of Egypt. That was 3,500 years ago. And today they are more threatened than ever.
Sometimes you just need a beautiful slideshow of giant, old trees to remind you how of the splendor of nature, and how it’s worth protecting.

Senator Janet Howell, Baddass Bitch of the Day
To protest a bill that would require women to undergo an ultrasound before having an abortion, Virginia State Sen. Janet Howell (D-Fairfax) on Monday attached an amendment that would require men to have a rectal exam and a cardiac stress test before obtaining a prescription for erectile dysfunction medication.
“We need some gender equity here,” she told HuffPost. “The Virginia senate is about to pass a bill that will require a woman to have totally unnecessary medical procedure at their cost and inconvenience. If we’re going to do that to women, why not do that to men?”
